Lisa Bleskie - Daycare Co-ordinator, Early Childhood Educator (ECE), Infant Toddler Educator & Special Needs Educator.
My name is Lisa Bleskie and I have been the Coordinator of Tree Frog Daycare since March of 1999.
I grew up in Waterloo, Ontario and completed the Early Childhood Education program there, at Conestoga College, before moving to Salt Spring in 1993. I am licensed as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE), Infant Toddler Educator and Special Needs Educator.
I have worked at Tree Frog since it opened in January 1994 and my time here has allowed me to work with children from infancy through school age. Over the years I have seen “The Frog” go through many changes and I feel very fortunate to be a part of this great little daycare in the woods that we have created.
Seeing the joy of discovery & learning in children continues to keep my Tree Frog experience fresh. I love the way the world looks through the eyes of a child making a new discovery and their laughter is among my favourite sounds ever!! As a caregiver it’s so rewarding to be a part of a child’s growth and development from the early days of rocking them to sleep through the excitement of kindergarten at “the big school!”
When I’m not at Tree Frog I enjoy spending my time near the ocean, reading a good book or being with the people I love.

Tami Funk- Early Childhood Educator (ECE), Infant Toddler Educator and Special Needs Educator.
I was born on Saltspring. I completed my ECE training in 1998 at Malaspina University College, including my Special Needs and Infant Toddler training.
I have four children. I have worked at TreeFrog Daycare on and off since 2000, taking time off in between to raise my babies. When I am not spending time with your wonderful children at TreeFrog, I enjoy being with my children!
In the summer we like to spend as much time in our camper as we can, as well as going to explore new beaches in our boat. In the winter, I like to wish for snow, and we travel north once a year to find it!

Jasmin Coffey- Early Childhood Educator (ECE)
I have been a part of the TreeFrog family in the past, and somewhat feel I never left!
Excited to start anew with families I know & families I will get to know well, and building a wonderful team to support you all.
Born and raised on Saltspring, the Island called me back a few years ago from a hiatus in the mountains, my passions are outdoor education, play inspired learning with a child led approach, sustainability, gardening, self expression, somatic healing, nutrition, herbalism, which I love to weave into my days with the children.
I truly believe the children are our teachers, we get to build on their interests and support their social-emotional needs.
I live in Fulford, so close to work, with my 16yr old daughter, two dogs, Luna and Ollie, & cat Sunset.
Allie Suguira- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) and Special Needs Educator.
My name is Allie, I’m joining the TreeFrog team and I’m so thrilled to be part of the community! It is my honour to support the re-opening and re-building the TreeFrog Daycare as well.
I’m a certified Early Childhood Educator with special needs education and holistic health background.
Previously I worked in forest education in Vancouver area and I have more than six year experience working in inclusive settings. I’m honoured to be involved in the most important time in children’s lives. Helping the children to connect the natural world has been one of my biggest goals. I’m passionate about supporting their social-emotional development and their whole body wellness through nature-based learning.
I’m excited to learn about each child, and build strong relationships with them.
I’m also trained in Holistic Medicine. I specialize in Western herbal medicine and Holistic Nutrition. In 2019, I lived in this beautiful Salt Spring community for a few months to learn permaculture training and as well I have worked as a holistic health practitioner for the past three years.
I enjoy spending time in nature, making natural medicines and skincare products, baking and other creative projects.
I’m hoping to support the children, families and the team in the community with my well-rounded experience and knowledge.
I’m so fortunate to be part of TreeFrog!
I look forward to meeting you all!
