Lisa Bleskie - Daycare Co-ordinator, Early Childhood Educator (ECE), Infant Toddler Educator & Special Needs Educator.

My name is Lisa Bleskie and I have been the Coordinator of Tree Frog Daycare since March of 1999.
I grew up in Waterloo, Ontario and completed the Early Childhood Education program there, at Conestoga College, before moving to Salt Spring in 1993. I am licensed as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE), Infant Toddler Educator and Special Needs Educator.
I have worked at Tree Frog since it opened in January 1994 and my time here has allowed me to work with children from infancy through school age. Over the years I have seen “The Frog” go through many changes and I feel very fortunate to be a part of this great little daycare in the woods that we have created.
Seeing the joy of discovery & learning in children continues to keep my Tree Frog experience fresh. I love the way the world looks through the eyes of a child making a new discovery and their laughter is among my favourite sounds ever!! As a caregiver it’s so rewarding to be a part of a child’s growth and development from the early days of rocking them to sleep through the excitement of kindergarten at “the big school!”
When I’m not at Tree Frog I enjoy spending my time near the ocean, reading a good book or being with the people I love.

Tami Funk- Early Childhood Educator (ECE), Infant Toddler Educator and Special Needs Educator.

I was born on Saltspring. I completed my ECE training in 1998 at Malaspina University College, including my Special Needs and Infant Toddler training.
I have four children. I have worked at TreeFrog Daycare on and off since 2000, taking time off in between to raise my babies. When I am not spending time with your wonderful children at TreeFrog, I enjoy being with my children!
In the summer we like to spend as much time in our camper as we can, as well as going to explore new beaches in our boat. In the winter, I like to wish for snow, and we travel north once a year to find it!

Joanne Fisher- Early Childhood Educator (ECE), Infant Toddler Educator and Special Needs Educator.
I was raised in Ontario and come from a small but active family. After many years of working as a Social Worker in Toronto I decided to make a career and lifestyle change. I learned just how important those early years are in the development of a healthy social, emotional and physical well-being and wanted to be involved at a different level.
In 2017, I graduated from Algonquin College’s Early Childhood Education Program. Since then, I have returned to Salt Spring Island and feel very fortunate to be a part of the Tree Frog team and community! Being an educator is very special work and I love enjoy supporting children to discover their curiosities and unleash their creativity as they develop. I also feel lucky that I get to sing silly songs and play silly games throughout my day!
When I am not at Tree Frog I enjoy cooking, baking, arts and crafts, all kinds of outdoor activities like camping, hiking, swimming, wildcrafting and gardening and spending time with good friends.

Li Sloan- Early Childhood Educator (ECE),

Li was raised in Toronto where she attained her Montessori ECE. She is also certified as a yoga teacher, children's yoga teacher & music and Reiki healer. She loves to honour all generations and specifically loves to observe child psychology and development. While volunteering on farms and ecovillages in different countries, Li's journey of connecting more deeply with the children of the lands began. She offered them guidance and play which sparked further studies in early childhood education. She is grateful to have moved back to Salt Spring Island after 8 years away, and is excited about all the possibilities at Tree Frog Daycare
