 Chairperson

Being a TreeFrog Graduate myself, it was a given that I was going to send my children here. Joining the board was an afterthought but it’s been a fulfilling experience, and I’m happy to have gained the friendships of fellow board members and parents. Working full time at our Local Credit Union, I felt that I brought great advice to our little non-profit along with having a little more say in the cause and effect of my daughter's everyday life at TreeFrog. While she is now in School, I’m happy to be able to stay on as a member of the board. As we recently found out that were expecting, it was an easy decision for me to commit to staying on and continuing to give back and eventually have our second attend such a great organization.
As we witnessed with our Daughter's time here, the staff are like Family and truly take interest in your child’s life. My daughter Addison has made lifelong friendships here and can only hope it will come full circle for her kids when that day comes.

Kate Fischer
Secretary

My parents moved to Salt Spring Island in 1993, so I was familiar with the Island when I moved over in 2010 to practice law with McKimm & Lott.  My elder daughter started in the baby room at TreeFrog in August 2014, and stayed until she began kindergarten.  My younger daughter started in the baby room in June 2018.  I really appreciate the dedicated administrator and staff at TreeFrog, as I feel that they make the facility what it is.  My children have both benefited from the preschool programming and the wide variety of arts and activities that the children can participate in.  I joined the Board in 2015 and became chair in 2016, and have now moved on to being Secretary.

Tree Frog is a beautiful little spot and we are grateful to be a part of the community here. My son loves his teachers and looks forward to seeing his friends in the mornings. I expect these early relationships will be the foundation for many years.

I joined the board in order to contribute to Tree Frog's long history in our community. So many children have benefitted from the exceptional care and relationships here. Salt Spring is a lovely place to raise children, and Tree Frog is a necessity for our family.

We are so grateful that both of our sons are able to attend Tree Frog and be in the care of this amazing staff. I love seeing the artwork the boys bring home each day, and in the mornings they excitedly ask, "Is today a Tree Frog day??" which is just the best endorsement for a daycare, ever. It's an incredible privilege to know that our children are safe and happy during their time at Tree Frog, and I'm pleased that I can give back in some small way by participating on the Board.
