Being a TreeFrog Graduate myself, it was a given that I was going to send my children here. Joining the board was an afterthought but it’s been a fulfilling experience, and I’m happy to have gained the friendships of fellow board members and parents. Working full time at our Local Credit Union, I felt that I brought great advice to our little non-profit along with having a little more say in the cause and effect of my daughter's everyday life at TreeFrog. While she is now in School, I’m happy to be able to stay on as a member of the board. As we recently found out that were expecting, it was an easy decision for me to commit to staying on and continuing to give back and eventually have our second attend such a great organization.
As we witnessed with our Daughter's time here, the staff are like Family and truly take interest in your child’s life. My daughter Addison has made lifelong friendships here and can only hope it will come full circle for her kids when that day comes.

My wife Kim & I moved from NYC to Salt Spring a few years ago to raise our kids on this beautiful island.  I asked to join Treefrog's board once our second daughter joined the infant room because I wanted to helpful in some small way as we love the team here and appreciate the great care they provide our Jasper & Brooklyn!

My parents moved to Salt Spring Island in 1993, so I was familiar with the Island when I moved over in 2010 to practice law with McKimm & Lott.  My elder daughter started in the baby room at TreeFrog in August 2014, and stayed until she began kindergarten.  My younger daughter started in the baby room in June 2018.  I really appreciate the dedicated administrator and staff at TreeFrog, as I feel that they make the facility what it is.  My children have both benefited from the preschool programming and the wide variety of arts and activities that the children can participate in.  I joined the Board in 2015 and became chair in 2016.

I am happy to serve on the board of Treefrog as a way to support this great program.  I am thankful and appreciative of the quality care that Treefrog offers.  After many years of teaching English at GISS, running the GISS Dance program, and developing and running the GISPA Dance program, I finally became a mother in October 2017. I am so grateful to have this opportunity to raise a daughter as a solo mama. Now, I am able to balance these two roles, with the help of the wonderful caregivers at Treefrog.  When not in the classroom or dance studio, I can be found on a mountainside, or ski slope, or forest trail, and now with my little daughter in tow.  As a parent and a teacher, I find physical literacy of utmost importance.  Moving the body with music, with mud, with trees, with running shoes, with skis is a source of our understanding of self, which then is the basis of confidence and individuality in our youngsters, and youth alike.
